The midsole represent the spins, the graduated panels are the muscles, the lacing loops/straps are the ribs, and the mesh is the skin. A rear and forefront air sole unit combined with the designed helped to give the impression of a sturdy, technological running shoe. The 25 PSI air pressure reading stamped onto the Air units sealed the deal. Later versions of the shoes would not feature the air pressure reading. The Nike Air Max 95s, also simply known as "95s" were released in 1995 with a specially designed box and featured only a small Nike Swoosh on he rear side panel.
